LEED Certification of TectoCell Standard Plus
Thanks to their energy-efficient and
hygienic features, our cold rooms are
qualified according to the LEED building standard. LEED is one of the most
acknowledged certification schemes
for green buildings. The certificate
states that our cold rooms emit none
or only low volatile organic compounds
(VOC). Thus, Viessmann cold rooms
minimise negative effects on health.
What our food consists of
nowadays
We sometimes do not know what we
consume with our food in today’s world. There has been discussions about
nanoparticles that can get into food
and thus into our bodies.
We can state that the coating of our
cold room elements is free of any hazardous nanoparticles that could be hazardous to health. The storage of food
and other goods in our cold and freezer
rooms is harmless for your health.
Reduction of food waste is
beneficial for the environment
Thanks to the hygienic features of our
TectoCell cold and freezer rooms like
wall overlapping, floor underlapping,
fewer joints, and antimicrobial powder
coating, we can contribute to reducing
food waste. The rooms can be maintained and cleaned easily, and external
influences such as dirt, germs, or
bacteria cannot survive or influence
the quality of stored goods. Hence,
product quality and longevity can be
preserved.
Reuse and recycling of cold
room solutions
According to specific application and
disposal guidelines for single materials,
all components of our cold and freezer
rooms are 100% recyclable.
The modular design enables the
de-installation of a Viessmann cold or
freezer room in one place and for it to
be installed again in another place.
Thus, the solution can be reused
various times without losing its
hygienic and energy-efficient features.
Refrigerants with low GWP
We have changed the refrigerants
of our refrigerated cabinets to more
environmentally friendly ones. For a
few years, our new cabinets have been
designed for natural refrigerants with
a low GWP value, like propane and
carbon dioxide.
We are converting our refrigerants and
refrigeration units gradually into more
sustainable products with lower GWP
values.
